Georgia Victim Notification Services Provides Delivery Model for Other States

Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles PresentationFollowing Marsy’s Law for Georgia’s presentation at the State Board of Pardons and Paroles and Georgia Office of Victim Services (GOVS) Conference in May earlier this year, GOVS presented the Georgia victim services delivery model last week at the 15th Annual National Association of Victim Assistance in Corrections (NAVAC) Conference in Manchester, New Hampshire.

During the conference, organizations shared information, resources, and referrals to better serve victims. The Georgia organizations presented the comprehensive process for post-conviction notification to victims after they have registered with the office by completing a victim-impact statement or contacting the office.

“Georgia’s presentation was the highlight of the training for me. I was truly impressed. Not only was the delivery innovative and refreshing, but the topics and content were also relevant and needed. I walked away inspired and motivated by their programs and their people! I would love to see this as a plenary or keynote presentation,” stated Jaquel Moody, Interim Administrator for the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry, Office of Victim Services.
